Early Works: Watercolors

1. Fluid Loop Series

“This work was inspired by the twisting-loops of my wall sculpture series, Circadian Loops, and were intended to be exploratory departures, especially in using a wet-in-wet approach and to exploit its' gestural possibilities.”

2. Oxidation Series

“In this work, I am intrigued by the fluid energy of water, and how it acts as a soluble agent in both watercolors and oxidation. Having worked with rust in my Rust-Stained Series, I particularly enjoy how watercolor can simulate the natural qualities of oxidation, without losing its’ gestural immediacy.”
